I am under the impression that any property that I acquire or income that I earn AFTER I file for divorce will be considered mine alone, and not part of the marital estate, which means that said property or income will not be subject to equitable distribution. In addition, any intellectual property created by me after I file for divorce in hopes of gaining income off of that propoerty, or any income created by that intellectual property after I file for divorce, will not be subject to distribution.
Can anyone tell me if I'm drastically off base here?
many tks.

That sounds correct- the date you file is the cut off date for property to be distributed in equitable distribution.
