We were together 9 years but never married. We had a daughter together. we just seperated 4 months ago and now she wants to take my daughter out of state.DO I have any rights in AZ to maybe stop this? She is moving to MO with her sister that already has 4 kids. She has NO job and so on. I need some advice fast on what I can do to either stop her or at least keep my daughter. I am in AZ

You posted on the more lively boards. Just give it a few minutes. Someone with an answer should be able to point you in the right direction.

I'm actually in the same situation. My daughter is going to be 2 this month but my ex (who I get along very well with) took her and moved to KS w/ her mom. I allowed this because we weren't married and I'm not going take my daughter from her mother and also cause court problems and turmoil between the two of us..so I approved the move when they asked my permission so I cried but was ok w/ it in the end as long as I get to see her at and talk to her alot..anyways...the child support is the issue now. I know its based on AZ guidelines cuz that's where she was born and where her and I agreed on the support but she's not letting me claim her on my taxes and she also should be paying for half of my travel costs to fly out to KS to see her. AHHHH!

Actually, child support is determined by the state the kid lives in after they have established residency (usually 6 months), and all she has to do is modify. Same with visitation.

Ahhh..interesting..but my ex and I have never been to court. We don't want to get the court involved because that will ruin our friendship so we're trying to negotiate between us..its a touchy subject but so far so good. I dread having to get the courts involved as well as her. But she definitely needs to lower what she's asking for because I'm not claiming her on my taxes (even or odd yrs) and my travel expenses, which comes to about $350 every 3 to 4 months to go see her. They do let me stay at the house w/ them but I have to fly indo Denver and rent a car to drive 3 and a half hrs to a small town right across the border in KS. Shouldn't she being paying half my travel to see my daughter and at least also let me claim her on my taxes on alternating years??? I feel like I'm getting ripped.

Get an attorney and file a motion to restrain her from removing the child from the state.
The courts won't stop the mother from moving, but they can stop the child from moving.
