I know there are some people on this forum who live in the MidWest and I'm sure most of you have heard about the tragic bridge collapse in Minneapolis yesterday. That bridge is a mere mile away from my new job!!! My heart and prayers go out to the families where tragedy has struck.
Not that I typically wait for a tragic event as an opportunity to show an appreciation for life, but it is a good reminder that life is precious and sometimes short. Tell the people in your world that you love and cherrish them and shower them with affection. No matter what tomorrow may bring, they have your words and your love in their heart and soul.
I do cherrish and value all of my friends on this forum! Thank you for welcoming me into your lives!!!

One of our sales women (she is from Minneapolis)has a friend that lives there and was caught on the bridge, she sent a couple of pictures of her car right on the edge. She was totally freaked out and was interviewed by GMA and will probably be going into therapy tomorrow.
What timing, she just made it when the bridge broke right behind her rear tires.

There is so much that we take for granted.
I am worried about the stress we are putting on the infrastructure of this country.
This tragedy could have been so much worse.
Hopefully the country will take it as a wake-up call.

I worry about our infrastructure in our country also. We can send billions to Iraq and yet can't seem to take care of our own country's needs.
I feel so sorry for the folks on teh bridge... all of them. For a lot of the survivors I imagine it is going to be a rough time for a while. I have a fear of high and or long bridges. I have to cross one in SW OH to get to my son and d-i-l's.. it is almost 250 high, and 2300 plus feet long... goes over a gorge and river. I detest this bridge... vertigo kicks in and I feel like I am being sucked to the side... not a good thing when you are driving. I thank God I am not going to visit them this weekend!
I honestly think I coud use some therapy myself now because the "bridge from hell" is now really on my mind. trivial I know, compared to what the folks on the bridge at the collapse, and their family and friends, are going through.

CiCi.,
When are you going to start writing for a living? You have such a way with words :)!
In any case, the bridge incident was awful, wasn't it? I sat horrified in front of the tv when the news first broke. Can't imagine what it is like to plunge down 60 feet into the water. Ugh...
My thoughts and prayers go out to those involved.
And hugs to you too!
Melanie
