Is the final judgment and decree the "court order" so to speak in a divorce case? When I type mine up for the judge to sign should I include EVERYTHING including property division, child support, custody, insurance, debts, etc. If the judge approves it and signs it...does that mean the divorce is final and what's in the decree is how it's gonna be?

Generally, divorce, custody, support and property settlement are separate issues before the court although all can be ordered in a single document.
I know that's not much help and I'd really recommend consulting with an attorney or having a paralegal help you draw up the paperwork. After all, your soon-to-be-ex has to sign it as well and the court has to find it in everyone's best interests before ordering it.
If you've bifurcated the divorce can be ordered separately with judgement reserved on the other issues over which the court will maintain jurisdiction.

The judge ruled on his decisions yesterday...my ex is on record agreeing to certain things and the judge just said to prepare the final judgment and decree and submit it to his office for his review and signature.

Then it should cover everything that the judge ruled on yesterday. However, I'd still get a paralegal to help you with it. They're much more inexpensive than a lawyer, yet can do you a world of good to make sure everything is proper so nothing comes back on you later.

I wish I could, but I don't have the money..I have $2 and some change in my account...I'm following a sample decree that's in my "How To File For Divorce In Georgia" book...I may post what I have typed up on here for thoughts and opinions before I turn it into the judges office. So everyone be watching for it and help me out.

Good luck, my divorce was final in May and I still have yet to have a final decree signed by the judge! It was supposed to take 10 days. Hope you don't run into the same problem!
