I have been divorced for about 2 years and reside in CT. I just found out that my ex never got the life insurance policy he was supposed to get per our agreement through the courts. This is critical as it has an affect on our child's well being. Besides just asking him to get it, are there actions I can take for him not doing what he was supposed to do per the divorce agreement. I couldn't believe it! Okay maybe I do LOL

I just asked my attorney the same thing. We had life insurance when we divorced and he is supposed to continue to carry $100k payable to our son.
My attorney said that you can ask for a copy of the paperwork (do so via certified mailing and keep copy of letter for yourself). If this doesn't work then, make sure your court trustees office is also sent one for your file. If this doesn't work, make sure your attorney knows. The courts will ask you to do everything in your power to get this...and to keep him out of jail. Final resort is jail. BUT, if he's in jail, then he can't earn a living to pay it. In the meantime if he dies...and he really doesn't have it...then you are first in order to get anything from his estate...if there is anything besides debt.
