Forget the moral issue for a moment.
If a man and woman fall in love and think they will stay together for the rest of their life, and come up with a unique living arrangement, what would be the legal issues.
By arrangement I mean....both keep their own homes, transportation, income, savings, retirement, everything seperate. What legalities are out there. I am talking everything...utilities, where they keep their stuff, the whole nine yards. Seperated.
American divorce is just a big scam after two divorces and this looks like the way to go. God understands this one.
(God understands is meant to be a general personal thing. I dont mean to offend the people that "float" because they are so good.)

I think both can be responsible for some debt under the scenario you describe.

ahh but think of the perks -
stability might actually be the key there in some weird kind of way.
if you truely kept separate and the courts ruled that what debt or assests you created were your own then you can't blame the other spouse for being unhappy if the two of them were willing to live like this.
I'm daydreaming about the perks actually - my bathroon would be clean, the house would be clean, no dirty clothes on the floor, my grocery bill would be lower, for that matter so would utilities....ahhh it could be endless.
I wouldn't hear about complaints that I use too much shampoo or that I wait until the dishwasher is fully loaded to run it....
