needs advise/help

my divorce was granted last year in massachusettes,but the decree didn't award me my share of the retirement,for the court does not have jurisdiction on him, i was advised to file a petition in the state that does,which is illinois...my problem is i am now living in virginia,how do i go about doing this?

Was any property divided, and was it a default judgement or did he participate in any of the proceedings?
