This is my situation. My daughter is currently living in colorado and had gotten in some trouble, children were removed from the home. and given to my oldest daughter, in regards to my grandaughter she is 14 yrs, and has lived with me all of her life, untill 1 yr ago when they moved to colorado. The father has now decied to step in, great although my grandaugher can not stand the man, never having a relationship as a father, more a friend. He stated he would alow me to raise her last week, and has changed his mind. Grandaughter, said she will run, hates him, wont go to school, has no and wants no relationship with him. Now this man taken advantage of my 16 yr daughter when she just gotten out of the hosp this man was 33 yrs and a school teacher. I am a good person and raise 4 wonderfull childern and helped raised 3 grandchildren. Can I help her with her rights or does she have any

Once child protection has a case, they will come up with a case plan designed to reunite the parent with the child. If they determine that the situation is not reconcilable, they will likely make an alternative placement and the other biological parent would certainly have the upper hand in that regard. That is particularly true if that parent lives in state.
