It would appear that a continuance would have been prudent. However, sometimes you don't know what you will face until the hearing occurs.

i asked my lawyer and she said it was up to me. I think she should have known we weren't prepared. She is supposed to be a professional. She yelled at me after the hearing and withdrew because I asked her why didn't she ask the questions I asked her to ask. Sorry if I already told you this. So many people have responded, I'm confused. I guess it depends on the questions you wanted asked. Often clients wish questions asked thatare not relevant or that may open a bigger can of worms. Ultimately, you must trust your counsel. However, your counsel should be patient enough to explain why they did what they did.
