Why was I stupid to marry someone half my age, and why should I therefore deserve "to lose everything"?
In any case, what does this have to do with the fact that it is obviously far worse to steal the proven product of someone's work, than it is to fail to reward someone for a contribution which they MAY, ARGUABLY, have made to the creation of said product? "Community property" and "Equitable division" (of "marital property") laws maintain that the second type of behaviour is as larcenous as the first!
I don't get it. The only explanation I can think of is that this world is full of more crazy people than sane!

if you are marrying someone half your age, you are buying something to show off sort of like an expensive car. You expect to pay for the car, well if you get a "show" wife, you have to pay for her too.
And I agree, the world more than likely has more crazy people than sane. And those crazy people believe they deserve everything and will do anything to get it.

But why should I have to pay TWICE?? I was happy to pay once by spoiling her, but WHY should she then be able to divorce me and go after everything I have??

Well, I do not believe that anyone should "go after everything." The whole system is not fair.
