We spent the entire day running between the two courts holding jurisdiction with SD's cases yesterday. We spoke to SD's lawyers as well as the Crown Prosecutors and Probation Officer...plus the Matrix people.
We have identified an issue in the Vancouver Court where we have a defense lawyer filling in as Crown Prosector yesterday. He is not willing to do much it seems. There is much grey area we are working within to get SD held in custody. He is acting more in her defense. Hubby is back on the phone this morning trying to get this guy to sign off on a "524" warrant we need in place just incase the other court house, hearing her drug charges, releases her today. If this warrant is in place, her current bail is revoked and she will be arrested again at the court house she is currently at. They had to put her over to today to answer to her drug charges because she was still unfit to answer to them yesterday. The federal prosecutor that will be handling the drug charges is on the same page as us and will push to keep her in custody. Unfortunately, the court holding jurisdiction is a lienient court...the same court who released her last time when we had spent 10 days getting her in custody.
The other sub-in prosecutor is a problem. He went as far as to tell us "Not to insult your parenting skills, but you should have just flushed her drugs rather than get her arrested" HUH? Its so tough when they change the players...trying to get people up to speed is difficult.
So...its another scramble to keep her in custoday. The drug dealers will, without a doubt, hurt her as she now owes them money. I gather she will go right back there to make ammends on her "debt". She has already shown up with a black eye and cigarette burns on her hands (we believe)from them. Its very hard not to want to track these guys down ourselves...VERY hard, but we have to keep our heads on right.
The Matrix people are still working on her. The sent a nurse to the jail for her. They have a Psychiatrist ready to do their assessment on her. We hear conflicting stories from the prosecutors and the Matrix people. The prosectors say there are no provisions for what the Matrix people say they intende to accomplish(sending her to a far away rehab for a year). The Matrix people scoff at what the prosectors say to hubby and are very confident they can make that happen. We sit in the middle and pray.

Seems like you guys are banging your head against the wall especially everytime a new player is involved. Seems like the new players just want to release her because it makes their job easier.
Hope they get their heads out of their a** and DO something.

It would be a lot easier if we didn't have to fill newbies in all the time! What we found a lot yesterday was apprehension...and when we started to explain why we were there(to the prosecutors and council) they seem to relax and work WITH us. Now, most of the people we have worked with so far are females with kids of their own. They seem to have compassion. The judge that will be hearing her breech charges requested with the consent of both council to be the judge at the next hearing for her on the 26th. We think this is awesome a she was very good(hubby said) and the consistancy will do wonders for keeping SD in custody this time. SD made promises to this judge directly that she blew less than 24 hours after her release. I understand her intentions to release her were based on trying something that hadn't been tried before (Dad's house). Now that absolutely everything has been tried(barring anything else they can come up with in court) and the fact that SD breeches every single time...maybe they will keep her locked up.

Thanks :-) We haven't given up on her yet..and we have new soldiers now helping us out. We'll see what transpires in the next little whille. Keeping my fingers crossed...

I am waiting for the book. This is an amazing journey you are on and you are really a wonderful person.
More power to you and I hope Miss16 is whisked away by the Matrix people asap.

Thankyou...we are praying hard!! They have a team ready for when she is sent back to the youth jail. We are still waiting to hear the results from today. It was suggested we do not show today so the judge doesn't send her home with us....so...we wait :-)
