Bills
      #415300 - 06/18/08 02:49 PM

Something M5 said in her post made me wonder what you all pay for utilities.

I live in a 998 square foot home with one-car garage. Obviously, the garage gets no heat or air.

My electric bill this past month was $78. I pay $68 because I just started averaging. My gas bill was $46. I think my highest gas bill at this house has been around $120. And that was over Christmas when I had a guest who keeps the house HOT. Drove me nuts. My water/sewer/trash bill runs about $40 a month.

Just curious what other people are paying.

OMG I would just DIE for a $96 electric bill.

We have about 1800 SF being air conditioned. We have a pool and the pump runs every day. We use solar for heat so no costs there. Our electric bill this month was $315. it included "fuel charges" of $143.

We have septic and garbage is included in our annual taxes so we just pay water which usually runs abaout $15 but here lately, we've watered a bit more and it's running about $30.

water/sewer/trash is about $60-65 a month.
electric I think was $70 but with summer here I keep it set at 70 degrees to so I think the most it was last summer was $180. that would be pushing it though.
gas is around $25-45 and that is for the hot water heater.

square footage is just under 1700.

Well...we are...or WERE (before we got behind) on balanced pay..and paying about $160 per month for our electric. We live in a rinky dink 3 bedroom trailer...and it costs us more to heat/cool this thing than it did when we lived in a real house.

Water bill is about $35 per month...add an extra $25 for sewer.

1,200 sq ft apartment, with washer/dryer:

$100/month budget for Electric
$100/month budget for Gas

1,600 sq ft house:

$250/month budget for Gas
$150/month budget for Electric

(which can fluctuate greatly)

Nah...you live in a newer home that's pretty energy efficient. My house KILLS me. The windows suck, the doors suck, NOT energy efficient.

Oh OK, good I'm glad that's normal, hopefully it'll stay the same!

In the apartment it was never below $90.

Power $74 a month
Gas $84 a month

Water is around $18

House is kept at a balmy 78 in summer and 74 in winter (or lower) We have it on a timer so things are not as expensive as when we first moved in.
