Horses don't swim until the 30th of June so the son will miss that... I've been there for that in Assateague bay in a boston whaler.... what FUN! I remember the big carnival they had on Chincoteague.... good times.
We are still good for the 15th!

Rebecca,
I may need your help this week!! I will PM you for advice on packing.... we looked at renting a Minivan... and it's going to be around $400.00.... so we will take my Element.... I've got to figure out how to pack everything SMALL!! I decided I could use the coolers as suitcases until we get there..... but that's as far as I've gone!

Christ Rock plays the mosquito, and at the end, he comes in and says he is a lawyer. They ask, "How did you get to be a lawyer, " He says, "I was already a bloodsvcking parasite, all I needed was the briefcase!"

well Miranda... I don't see what the big deal is.... >snickers<
my idea of camping is Mandalay Bay poolside or strolling through the "city" at the Venetian.... or sleeping on the concerige level of the Hopkins hotel in San Fran. I am spoiled....... but I also have to consider my SLE.
I found 3 places that look good. LeAnne made a great suggestion so I am going to make calls today.

I hate camping.
In a tent, in a camper, I don't care...I'm not camping unless I'm in an A/C cabin with cable.
I don't go anywhere in the woods or in nature. A hotel on the beach is about as close to camping as I go.
I'm with you on that one. I got talked into camping about 10 years ago. It was all adults and a big 3 day "party". About the most miserable 3 days of my life. No thanks. I'd never do it again. Especially in a tent.

I can't believe how many ppl here dislike camping. Not that I am saying anything bad about anyone. I love it. Actually, when DH takes his first week of vaca this summer, we are going to go camping the whole 7 days. It has nothing to do with our budget. We found this kickbutt campground, they have a swimming pool with 2 water slides, a ping-pong table, a tennis court, basketball court, fishing pier, miniature golf, horseshoes, etc... All you have to do is give them your license to rent any of the equipment. If you want to swim in the lake, they have a roped off part for that, too. That would be where I draw the line. I used to love going in the lake or a pond but now, I get too grossed out. LOL. We BBQ, roast marshmallows, hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks, do sandwiches, etc... Of course, we get the campsite with water and electricity because with the hot flashes from my menopause, I don't want to sit in the truck for an hour with the AC running. The kids love it and it is the only time I get to sleep in a few days. DH will take the kids exploring in the woods or something. We have a blast. I do the air mattress thing, too. Not as young as I used to be. LOL. I hope you have fun, RWS. We love it and usually take my neice with us.

VA has "chiggers" and they are dreadful. They itch like a mo-fo but bug spray does help. If you are in any grassy areas, which I assume you will be, I suggest bug spray on your feet and ankles or up as high as the grass is. I'm totally horrified of them. I'd rather have 10 skeeter bites than 1 chigger.
