What sites are reliable to book motels on-line? Dd15 has a med appt coming up. The specialist is 4hrs away from us, so we're making a trip out of it, but I'd like to book the motel in advance to make sure, well...that we have one when we get there. I've heard of motels.com, expedia.com, etc., but have never used them. Any sites you guys would recommend or I should stay away from? Or do I just get out the phonebook and start calling area motels?

Used 'em all. Travelocity, Expedia, Hotels.com, heck, I just used Priceline.. set my own price AND got EXACTLY the hotel I wanted to stay in. Saved 50% off the hotel's website "best rate".
I've NEVER had a problem with any of them.

i've had a few bad experiences with hotels.com which is owned by expedia. had a few bad experiences with expedia as well (like when i check into the hotel they never received the fax notification from expedia). i usually find the hotel prices on hotels.com then go directly to that website or call the hotel direct to make the reservation. it's usually cheaper, and i don't deal with the hassle or additional charges.

I love Travelocity. I also use Hotwire, but I feel they were dishonest with the hotel they sold me last time (called it a 4 star when it is really 3.5 star resort.)

I love Priceline and their Name your Own Price. Seems like a good deal. Never have any problems.
I used Hotwire and felt gipped. The hotel was not as nice as advertised. I got a cheaper rate at the same hotel by asking at the front desk.

...would even know the DIFFERENCE between a 4.0 star and a 3.5, LMAO!
Ever stay in a 3.678549 star hotel?

We've always used Priceline and had fairly good luck.
