Hi everyone...I am glad to be here.. just starting out and I have two basic questions...
After filing separation papers in NY state, will I receive a receipt verifying the filing?
Also, about how long have you guys seen it take from filing to judgement?
I know I have more questions... and I will search the threads as to not be redundant or annoying.
Please forgive me if this has been asked ad nauseum.
Thank you..

You should be able to get a reciept whenever you file anything. The time from the date of filing to the submission of the proposed judgment is up to you; however long that takes is how long it will take. Once the judgment is submitted to the court, i can take a few weeks to several months depending on the county and the judge assigned. Check with the clerk of the court.
