BK and owning a home

If you file for BK and own a home, can they put a lien on your house for all the debts?

That depends. If you are talking about a homestead that you live in, the answer is "No." A lien can only be filed if the contract includes the home as security. If it is a rental property, it can be required sold to satisfy creditors.

Wouldn't that depend on how much equity is in the home? I thought all of that changed with the new regulations.
