Well, stuck, we told you but you believed him. We told you to dump him and get someone else - that he was lying to you.
Well, now you know. And, it isn't over yet.

Only $10K? You got off easy... mine was $42K. But I didn't have to pay any SS. He just got half the equity in the house, medical insurance paid for 18 months and 1/2 the 401K. I could have easily had to pay lifetime alimony if we had gone to trial. My lawyer never made me any promises. If anything he was more pessimistic than optimistic for me.

Here we go again, "my lawyer said"!!!
When the judge reviews the agreements and sees they are very one sided, she won't look bad at all.

Settlement negotiations are not admissible in court. As a rsult, your offers of settlement are useless.
Moreover, seeking to vindicate her rights in court will not look bad for her unless the court decides that what she is seeking in court has no merit.

Not sure what state you are located in, but in NC, you can file a fee dispute against your attorney thru BAR--after firing my attorney for substandard service--I filed a fee dispute against him--his [censored] agreed to accept 2/3's of original bill of ~$24,000.00--with a signed agreement not to file a grievance against him. Had to find another attorney to continue--should have done it a lot sooner.
