One would think that you could actually come up with something that is humorous. But, what can one expect from an attorney that pimps herself on boards like this and advertises that she practically "specializes" in everything.

This little piglet that went to the market actually represents males and females. Kinda deceptive advertising, doesn't one think? She has NO SPECIALTY. She ONLY takes money and then, "hopes for the best." That's all she can do. Why do we know this? Simple. We have PROVEN the HA PIG wrong countless times. She is incompetent and is only good at drinking her single malt scotch. It's a shame that she things that she can think and type at the same time. But, at least we can point it out to her...

Therefore, whatever she states should be regarded with caution and suspect due to her repeated lies, misinformation and posts in multiple names along with just being an "icky" type subhuman.

UPI Mars Hill, ME

In the waning days of the Bush presidency, the oval office has been inundated with a myriad of executive pardon requests. These, including requests from representatives for Marion Jones, Mike Milken, Timothy McVeigh, and Al Quaida sympathizer John Walkee Lindh.

For the most part, the Bush presidency has taken a conservative approach to granting such clemency. However, on Saturday White House Press Secretary released to the public a statement that the President will be pardoning the father of E ric E ricson. E ric Arthur E ricson is described in White House background checks as an underachieving, parasitic founder of the failed Organization F IRM. The pardon was granted based on the high levels of narcotics found in the genetic sperm donation extracted from the maternal goat that sired the internet activist.

“The father had to be pardoned. Given the level of poison in the sperm, he could not have possibly known what he was doing,” White House Spokesman Aru Fireel stated to the press. “Moreover,’ Fireel continued,” the tests conclusively prove that E ricson is not really the Prince of Darkness and the horns and cloven feet are explained by his bovine ancestry.”

F IRM spokesman I.B. Enbred expressed the disappointment of the F IRM members. "We thought we had found a true leader. But at least it explains why meetings are held in a pasture while E ric eats grass." There was no immediate comment as to whether action would be taken to disband the loosely knit organization of disfunctional men, but a Motion has been proposed to shave the leader and make matching shirts.

I read this entire thread and only your beginning post makes much sense. I don’t want to get involved in the troll thing but, I do want to answer your initial question.

That said: I’ve been in the family court system as a NCP for 17+ years now and here’s my advice to you:

Interview lawyers as if they were applying for a job your offering because, they are.

Have a list of your objectives handy and a copy for the lawyer. Review each objective verbally. This will give you an idea of his/her position on issues. If the lawyer goes to fast or redirects the conversation, be polite but, say something like: I don’t quite understand what you said about X.

Don’t be afraid to ask an attorney for references from recent but not active clients.

Make sure the lawyer you chose is a proponent/advocate for men who are non custodial parents. (Many men make the mistake of not doing this.) I used to try dancing around this question and just feel them out. I don’t anymore; I just explain that “I have to ask you a frank question”.

Determine an hourly wage up front and don’t be afraid to haggle a bit. You’ll probably lose, but, it will show the lawyer that you are not afraid to challenge him/her. Some lawyers want to work for a “lump sum”, personally, I won’t hire a lawyer using the “sump sum” scenario, I’d rather pay them by the hour otherwise you (the client) lose the transparency that will keep you informed.

Get the lawyer to acknowledge and agree that you are to be copied on every document created on your behalf or that you’re billed for. If a lawyer has a problem with this, be wary. You have a right to know everything he/she does on your behalf. It only takes a minute to copy or print an additional copy of a document – so don’t let them over bill you on this.

Examine every invoice closely. Call his/her office and protest if you are billed for anything that seems unreasonable. IE: Taking an hour to read a 1 page motion. Read that same document yourself and see how long it takes you. Stuff like that. Be gentle about this, say something like: I think your billing dept made an error in charging me for X (of course you’ll explain why you think X was charged erroneously – in a nice way!).

Always treat your lawyer with respect but, demand that same level of respect in return.

One more thing, don’t be afraid to fire your lawyer but do get another one before you can the current lawyer. Also, be honest with the new lawyer as to why your terminating your relationship with your existing lawyer. This is also a very good reason to keep a complete file of your case (in date sequence). Otherwise, your current lawyer will probably charge you to turn your case file over to a competitor.

Another thing LOL! The GAL is a “friend of the court” and the judge, so always be kind and courteous towards them. They (she) may be humping the judge for their cushy job!

Good luck to you.
