My step son is stationed in Missouri. He went to AIT there and met a 17 yr old girl. She was his first real girlfriend and so he thought he needed to marry her. They had only known each other 4 months before they got married. We found out that the girl got emancipated from her parents to get married. She is also suffering a medical condition that requires medication. Well needless to say it is not working out she is spending all of the money, she will not finish high school and we finally had to tell her to get a part time job because my husband and I can no longer help them with money. Well now that she is only working 42 hours every two weeks she thinks that she doesn't need to clean house, or use her money that she is earning to help pay the bills. She expects my step son to come home from the military during lunch hour and clean house and run after her since she is "working so hard". Whatever. Anyway my question is he is seeking a divorce they have only been married 4 months and I was looking at the laws in Missouri and it seems that he could possibly have to pay alimony to her if she can prove that she can't support herself since she hasn't finished school. I believe that she "conned" my step son into marrying him under the pretense that she needed medication cause her family couldn't afford it any longer. Also the whole time that they have been married, she has wanted to move in different people into their military housing and we have advised him not too cause they could lose their housing rights. She also told some lie that her aunt was dying and the aunt wanted her and my step son to adopt her three children (so that they could get military health benefits and more money) but they only thing is that they are both under 21 and can't adopt. Also she went on a trip to Nebraska to see this aunt that was dying and ended up partying and rumor has it my step son wife slept with her first cousin. What I need to know is there a law or something pertaining to "fraud" since I believe that she married my step son just because he was in the military and to get access to benefits. If you met her side of the family you would understand the whole story we have found out that everything that was told to us about her and her family has been a lie and they look like your typical white trash family. Any comments would be a great help

>>>>>>>>> Alimony while the divorce is pending always a posibility , still not likely for a 4 month marriage . Encourage him to file immediately .

>>>>>>>>> Forget about it .
-------------------- Careful. We don't want to learn from this.
