re witnesses
      #520332 - 04/04/09 04:59 PM

Im not sure if my last post made any sense. I was just wondering for those who have went thru or are going thru a divorce if you could tell me that one party can bring in people who are witness to the actions of the other party. I dont know if that will be allowed. My Husband admitted to trying to starve me to death. Plus how he is trying to blackmail me into signing papers before he gives me any money. Can I bring in the people he said it to on a divorce???
Thanks

i do not work due to the fall off a ladder. I now need surgery. I worked 18 years til the fall. he took the plates off the vehicles and refuses to give any money for food, bills and car insurance. When he got arrested he admitted to trying to starve me and that he wants me dead to th police. He closed our bank accounts. I have absolutely no income. i dropped from 126 to 99 lbs. first he said if i sign his papers he will give me money. now since their is a restraining order he said he give me money if i drop that. thats blackmail. He has told this to me and others. Thats why i was wondering if i can have those people in court with me on a divorce? He has had someone comita felony by taking my plates which he admitted to. He has done theft and forgery cause he went and even closed our sons account purposely. They have the same names but diff middle. He keeps doing things to get himself introuble but blames me for it

Have you applied for SS?

Also, if the disability happened during the mairrage, he is stuck. Dont let him bully you.

what do you mean he is stuck if it happened during marriage? Happened 2 1/2 years ago. Im 44 and was told i would never get approved for ss do to my age. I dont want him bullying me but kinda hard when he refuses to give me any money for bills or food. What makes me so mad is thru the 23 years i never was a shopper or bought for myself. Im not a material person. Always happy with a roof over my head. And now i cant even buy a loaf of bread.

Who told you that you couldn't get SSDI if you were 44 ? Did you ask at the local social security office ? If you were permanently disabled by the fall, you need to apply for SSDI benefits.

You can apply for temporary spousal support at the local court house.

You can apply for SSI because you are disabled and have no income.

You can apply for food stamps. You can go to a local food pantry.

Get a new lawyer tomorrow. You need to start doing things to help yourself....and quickly

---Wrong. thats about the average age

I dont want him bullying me but kinda hard when he refuses to give me any money for bills or food.

--> You need to get a job if you have no food. Or at least apply for food stamps or something

What makes me so mad is thru the 23 years i never was a shopper or bought for myself. Im not a material person. Always happy with a roof over my head. And now i cant even buy a loaf of bread. [/quote]

--->Like I said, apply for food stamps
