The law says 6 months (no kids, separation agreement). When you draw up a separation agreement, can you backdate it to the day of separation? Since you can't really prove you were separated for each night over a 6 month time period, could you hypothetically backdate it 5 months, wait a month, and get a cooborating witness to say you were separated for the whole 6 months, and be done with it without actually waiting 6 months? How much proof do you really need?
