In fact, you feel kinda stupid if you are a good father, but then get thrown away like used paper towel during the divorce.
There is a lot of truth to this statement for anyone, man or woman for that matter, who is going or has gone through this.
You take care of the kids, try and give them everything they need and even take over pretty much all the care of them when you are home when the spouse decides that her online male divorced/single/married but dont act like it "friends" are more important then taking care of the kids and yourself.
You go to court and the judge just doesnt seem to care and your spouse gets the kids and you get the bills and CS with no money left over to even go see them. Its crappy when the only way it looks like to buy them something for christmas is with a Bill Me later account which I really cant affort to put anything on unless I pay it back with tax money which i need for other bills we owe including my lawyer fees.
It does suck to feel like you were used for 18 years and as soon as she thought you had a good job for CS and she could get part of your retirement, she throws you away and destroys your family and your relationship with your kids.
What did I do to deserve that? Nothing, its not fair but the courts are not fair. They go by precedent set years before any living judge sat on the bench IMO.
