Is it standard to ask for 1/2 of other payments for the child, like 1/2 of medical co-pays, extracurriculars, etc? I think I read where the law says that is included in child support, but I have also read here where several people have it stated in the divorce decree.

It is standard to have 50/50 expenses for anything medical that is not covered by health insurance. That is what I have in my divorce and from what I have heard that is most common. Sometimes they will go on what percentage of the total income you make as they do in determining what percentage of the child's support each of you are responsible for but I believe that 50/50 is standard.
