to make a long story some what shorter: been married 8 years, have 3 children, and very unhappy. husband is a daily drinker, often stays out till 1am or later, spends very little time with me or kids, makes threats and says he wishes me and the kids were dead when he's drunk, has no goals in life career or otherwise, etc... so, obviously i am not happy with my situation, my children fear their daddy and i worry what he might do one night if he comes home too drunk and in a bad mood. when he is here, we argue constantly, and things are very tense, nobody is happy. i want to leave and take the children with me. however, i am unemployed so i don't have any sort of income to support them or myself. i have been actively job hunting, but the economy isn't too good right now. my questions are: is there any sort of gov't or state grants for housing i could turn to for assistance in finding a place for me and my children until i get some financial stability? any sort of grants i can apply for? how would i do that? etc... thanks!
