In Cali - it doesn't seem to be difficult. You can get all you forms online. There should be a website where you can get them.

I would say just make sure you give yourself a lot of time to do research and build your evidience to prove that you are a good person. Are there kids invloved? Don't tell your spouse that you are planning to divorce if you can avoid it. Filing first is usually a plus because it makes you the plantiff and you get the first say in court proceedings. Good luck.

Is this uncontested? Do you have a Family Law Facilitator in your local Court? Also, don't forget Nolo Press: "How To Do Your Own Divorce" it is about $30 and has all the forms plus CD with forms; the book walks you through step-by-step and there is one for every state. Also, try EZLegal from your local Courthouse site; usually you can go through the entire form process and when complete, file right on line.

Please keep me posted. I am eager to learn if Idaho laws regarding Pro Per (self-represent) in a divorce are tedious, difficult, reasonable, or simply...simple.

Good luck to you as well.

Thanks, Sandy
