Hello to all the old timers who still post. This is Melanie from Maine aka Liz2 :).
Remember me? I was married for 20 years when ex left for much younger woman, she became pregnant before we divorced and they married 1 month after we legally divorced. What a difficult time that was, but I got through it with the help of this board and will never forget it. Dot, Annie, Nancy and tons others whose names I can't recall now were so helpful. Thank you all.
Anyway, I haven't been to this site in over 2 years. Maybe much longer. Time has a way of flying by so quickly, that its hard to keep track.
Things are going very well. The divorce seems like it happened a zillion years ago (its been 7 years)and I'm quite happy and content with life.
Kids are doing well. Older son, now 23 graduated college last year and younger son (the one who put every single gray hair into my head!) is now a junior in college and thriving.
I'm still single, but dating and having a blast. I've traveled some, still into the arts and photography but have also gotten involved with the local political party.
Friends and volunteering keep me busy and fullfilled.
To anyone interested, pm me and lets chat. Or you can look me up on facebook. A few of us old timers are on fb now and its great!
To all those just now going through divorce. Hang in there. I promise that it will get better. Take things a day at a time, even an hour at a time if you have to. But just keep putting one foot in front of the other. There is light at the end of the tunnel...

Hopefully for women demanding alimony, the light at the end of the tunnel will be the muzzle flash.

Hey Melanie, I remember you. You are one of gals on here who helped me several years ago. I am in contact with Bacall and Lyn.. Lucky was another one who posted a lot back then, Hippo (with the twins) and so many others.
Thanks for the update, glad to hear that life is going well.

Yes, I have to say most of the "oldies" have migrated to facebook. At some point, you move on but don't want to lose all contact with the friends you've made here, but coming back here seems...reactionary. So facebook seems to be a good compromise.
