Florida uncontested military divorce
      #650370 - 04/08/10 02:51 PM

If a military member is having an uncontested divorce in Florida, and both parties agree to all conditions of splitting up the property (to include payments equial to 50% retired pay), does anyone have to file anything with the federal government under the Uniformed Services Former Spouse Protection Act?

Ok...my situation is pretty complicated. My husband and I have been married for almost 4 years, but i believe he filed for an uncontested divorce in Florida but im not sure if it was through the military. however, i have recently been lead to believe that he only used me so that he can get more money from the navy, because he hasnt helped me financially. then he was relocated from san diego to florida and he said he told the navy i went with him when in reality some girl is living with him as if it were me. he has been seeing this same girl since he lived in san diego where i live and he even lived with her when he told me he was still out to sea. i dont know how far along my divorce is but my question is, can I file for spousal support? what can i do about this situation?

You're not likely to get spousal support for such a short duration marriage. He is entitled to BAH with a dependent **you**

You can't file a divorce **through the military** that is always handled in a civilian court. Have you tried calling Florida to find out if he has filed for divorce? You know where he's living, that's the court I'd start with first.

Are you working in San Diego? If so, you need to continue doing so, file your own divorce if he doesn't have one started and move on.
