Hey English biotch, Why does she get to live off a man's money ? Why can't she live off her own money ? What exactly is she being paid for ?
What are you being paid for every day ? Your great personality ?

Seriously, when you post, I usually agree with the sentiment of the post but dude, you are seriously pissed at a system that isn't going to change in the near term and we will all be dead and buried before it does as it's based on English common law so if you are going to aruge against it, it would be better just to do it "normally". I paid $67,200 is SS alone, under terms and conditions she continually violated and there was nothing I could do. If anyone around here should be pissed, it's me. That's on top of $520K in CS she never spent on the kids. If I can restrain myself, you can
Yeah, he's in a higher tax bracket, and the net income will end up less than hers.
Uh, he gets to deduct spousal support above the line. Which means that the portion that he's paying isn't income to him at all and not taxed. And she will have to list that as income to her and pay the taxes on it.
His tax bracket will be based on his income AFTER spousal support is paid.
On the plus side, I would assume down the line, he will make more. Needs to make it non-modifiable for ANY REASON. Boy- talk about a [censored].
Which would screw him should he become disabled and unable to work.

Definitely pure assumption that there are minor children involved. They have been married for 29 years. Chances are very good that they do have children, they just happen to be adults and not an issue.

It's just that the VAST majority of marriages has kids involved and they, like I said, are usually used a chess pieces during the settlement process. GoodMom didn't clarify anything. The OP never responded.

I get what you're saying about the children being a big part of the support picture, but Goodmom made a point about his tax being calculated AFTER spousal support is made. Is that true?

I'm not being paid, Yregna, except for my hard work, and it doesn't have anything to do with my STBX. I think you just hate women.
Hey, Yreg, na, na, why don't you ever answer people who reply to your posts? You make nasty comments, then disappear. Are you afraid of us? My guess is that you are.
