Can i ask that my almost ex wife take her maiden name back? I don't want her to have my name any more.

Nope....the courts will not dictate her name (nor can you).

It's not just your name. It became hers when you gave it to her when you married. She can choose to change it, however you nor the courts can force her to.

The courts can and have forced a change. But not just because the ex wanted it. At times however, it has been shown that the name was used in identity theft and/or other harrassment that was made easy by virtue of having/keeping the last name. In those instances, a court can and will order it changed.

It depends on your state. My husband brought a name change hearing against his ex wife and it was granted.
