Hi, I need a little direction on my divorce. My soon to be Ex and I have been separated for 3 1/2 years. I have atempted an uncontested divorce multiple times over the course of those years only for him to tell me at the last minute to "take him to court and spend my money". We have a child, but no property or anythingelse to divide. The only issue has been child support and visitation. He lives in another state, over hours away. We went to the state mediator a while ago for support, they gave us amount and stupidly, i agreed to keep it between ourselves and let himpay me personally. He has since decided not to pay.... Now, I have finally decided, feeling well armed with internet knowledge, to filethe paperwork, pro se, reguardless. I just recieved word from the Sherriffs office that he was served today. He was served with the Divorce papers, as well as the papers for the Motion thatI filed for temporary support and custody. Our hearing in 2 weeks.I would like to know that if he decides to hire an attorney, i he legally obligated to tell me, or does the attorney have to send paperwork or call? I don't want to show up to court and he has representation and I don't. Obviously no matter how well you feel prepared, it's no match for a lawyer. If someone could answer that for me,that would be wonderful. Also any additional advice would be VERY greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Hope it's all worked out. No I doubt he has to tell you if he has an attorney. He probably should respond with a counterpetition or just do nothing.
Do you have a court date? Has it happened yet?
