My ex and I are post divorce of 3 years. In our decree he must designate me as sole beneficiary until his death. 3 are whole life and had cash value which he got to keep, one was with his professional license and the other was a term.
The term policy was for a 20 year fixed premium. 10 years left remaining on the amount. When he turns 64 the premium goes up due to his age. Ex has stated that when it does he will cancel.
Will a Judge force him to maintain the policy if I file against him if he ever cancels?
How do Judges view these kinds of issues? Do they get in trouble like they would if it was support issues, property settlement things?
Ex has contineously defied the court orders temp/final and making things very difficult and costly.
Just want to know if Judges will enforce it when the time comes if he cancels. I have heard alot of men cancel the life insurances as time goes on.

Does the decree state that he must maintain his current level of coverage or does it just say that he can't change the beneficiary ?
I've only heard of life insurance being mandated in cases with child support to provide for the needs of the children in the event of an untimely death.

It states "Respondent shall be the sole beneficiary of all life insurances in force, plus the pension account until Petitioners death" "The children of the marriage will be contingent beneficairy's" "Petitioner shall provide Respondent the statements of beneficiary's every March 1st of each year". It doesn't say anything like the amount can be changed or have a policy number, just in force.
My ex has not sent anything since final. Ex has blantantly defied all court orders. Major issues.
I think what I am more frustrated than anything is that my ex thinks he can get away with it and I am feeling the courts will never do anything to him. As if the orders are just worthless papers. Just once I would like for him to be accountable in a court of law.

""Respondent shall be the sole beneficiary of all life insurances in force"
I think you have a problem. To me, the above means if he has policies active, you must be the beneficiary, but he is free to drop that coverage. It doesn't say that he must maintain [censored] amount of coverage. I'd consult with a lawyer.
