Filing CS - when do they notify NCP?

Husband just filed for child support - we've been on the other side, when kids mom had custody, but this is our first time filing. We received the letter from Texas attorney general stating they received the application and will be processing... do they notify NCP a case has been opened against them, or do they not notify them until a decision has been made?

The court should send the NCP and the CP a summons requiring them to be in court on such and such date in regards to a CS hearing.

Both sides are given the chance to have legal representation in court before the court decides and issues a CS order.

In our case (always the NCP until 17 years in) the court date was postponed numerous times by the NCP- 8 months later it was finalized and the order has just been signed but still not officially issued.
