I moved out of our home that we both own together in California. He stayed in the home. He moved in a roommate (a male friend) and he will be paying rent to live there. I do not want this person to live in the house for a variety of reason to do with child visitation and lack of finanical responsibility of the friend. Does anyone know or is there anyone out there that has dealt with this issue? Do I have a right to saw who can live in the house since I still own it and my child will be living there part time for visitation? If I do not have that right then is my soon to be ex-husband obligated to pay me half of the rent that the friend is paying him? Any advice would be helpful.

Are you still paying half of the mortgag for your ex ?
Did he want to keep the house or was he stuck with it because it's upside down ? Can stbx afford it on his own ? Is there a plan to get your name off the mortgage ?
Even if you and stbx sell this house and he gets an apartment or house just in his name, he may choose to have a roommate. As long as that person isn't a direct threat to your child, not much you could do about it.
