well i will be brief i live in Canada my x and i where married for a year and lived together for 8 months so total 18 mths know i have to pay here 1/2 of what i put into my pension for the time we where together and this will be till the day she passes on i dont think this is fair to me i think i should only pay her 1/2 my pension for the time together not for the rest of her life can anybody help here advice thanks :mad:

That's not the way in it works in any of the 50 states, but I can't speak for Canada. What does your attorney say?

It should be only half of your pension contribution for the year you were married. Consider it a worthwhile expenditure!
