I need a new lawyer, but don't have the $5,000 up front they seem to want. I'm on disability and husband makes lots. He got tired oafter 34 years of marriage. My lawyer is so interested in HIS rights and protecting him. It scares me. I can't help but wonder who she is working for. Now she will not look for hidden money. I'd ove to know what he did with about $100,000 in stocks and another $150,000 from the trust mom set up for me. He had time to plan and It wasn't safe to try to find out what was going on. She has talked to another lawyer.. one of his friends who 'assures her' that my ex can't possibly have that type of money. She wanted me to 'give' him his whole 401K any savings and all of the timeshare and more. Now she wants me to let him back in the house to take what he wants to.. he walked out on me a year ago and took soo much and trashed other things. Any ideas. Help

I would document everything she's said and report her to the bar. You may be able to leverage some of your funds back.

Make sure you document everything report her to the bar and rate her on all lawyer rating sites. I had a very bad lawyer and have an outstanding balance with him for over billing and not preforming task. I refuse to pay and I know there is going to be a huge fight with him. This is why lawyers get such a bad name. good luck to you

Seems scary. Document everything, just as sprinter told you, it's very important and try to change lawyer as quickly as possible. Goog luck!
