I have been contemplating divorce for a couple of years. I've been trying to find reasons to stay and sometimes feel it's the right thing to do but lately have been feeling like leaving for good.
Question, who pays legal fees? I live in New York and both lawyers i spoke with said i'd pay mine and wife would pay hers. I make 80k and she makes 75k.
I have many other questions but thought i'd start with this one. It's my first post. Hello everybody!

A court may award legal fees based on need (one party does not have the ability to pay and the other does), or conduct (one party contributes unreasonably to the length, delay and cost of proceedings). In most cases, the parties pay their own.
