attorney's fees

my best friend just got a divorce. Her now ex-husband was ordered by the judge to pay all her attorney's fees no later than Jan 1, 2012. He has plenty of money to pay it now, but he hasn't yet. Although, he does intend to, and will, and has the financial means to do so, he just hasn't paid yet. My friend's attorney is threatening her with legal action for her to pay NOW on the balance due on his fees, even though he KNOWS he will get paid by her
ex. Can her attorney sue her?
