Hi HELP please
      #759799 - 08/18/11 03:23 PM

Well im a recently divorced mom with 2 kids. Now when we were married i was the one working and paying the bills. Also i was paying for the car. But he was a very controlling person and would not let me have my name on the title of the car. So now that were divorced and i rely on the car he is threating to take it away. Now the car was never mentioned in the divorce procedure and thats all done now.So i would like to know is there anything i can do to keep the car? Or stop him from taking it back.
He doesn't pay child support, drops the kids of with his parents when he does see them. He is really getting to me and im not sure what to do. any one have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it is legally his car. If he's not paying child support, call your local enforcement office.

Hi thank you for the reply! So theres nothing i can do to keep the car out of his hands? Is there no other option but court?

I did call about the child support and they said they couldn;t do anything its up to the courts but! he is paying(just 1 week of payment not everything he owes) right before the court date so it gets canceled and we can go through it all of over again.
(what kind of parent cares so little about there kids? won't even buy school clothes!, sorry just venting)

It sounds like your failure to address this issue in the divorce settlement may have cost you the car.

The answer to your other question is: a parent who is selfish, a parent who is unemployed, or a parent who is more angry with the ex than they love their kids.
