is child care added into child support?
      #760134 - 08/21/11 04:01 PM

Im receiving all these emails from my ex saying she's adding this and that to our upcoming change of domicile case. Because now she's saying she's adding our daughters child care expenses into her order for child support modification. Which as she says is $75 registration fee, and for 5 days a week $190 a week. Is these even right? Can she add that?

My wife found my support order and this is the break down.
**$58 per month child support
**$51 per month current cash medical support
**$3.50 per month arrears and/or fees
total $112.50 per MONTH

Yes, you will be ordered to pay a portion of daycare costs.

Have you considered a vasectomy? Maybe your insurance will cover it.

Why do you think you shouldn't be responsible for helping to pay towards childcare costs? Why would you not be ordered to pay your share? Would you like it if she expected you to pay for 100% of those costs and shhe just pay you $112 or less a month to help?

Kids cost money. It's just a fact of life. Don't have kids if you don't feel you should help financially support them.

What state are you in?

You will NOT be responsible for ALL daycare fees, but a portion- probably based on ratio to your incomes. I am assuming your X works? If she does NOT work then daycare costs are obviously not a MUST.

It depends on the child's circumstance.

Lastly $112/month for your share of your child's financial wellbeing doesn't sound like too much.

Yes child care can be ordered in addition to support. In my state we pay a portion of 75% of the total child care expenses. Our income ratio is 55/45% so if child care was $190 a week, we would pay 55% of 75% of that fee for a total of 78.38 a week.
