"The cs is 3 years in arrears on cs based on his army pay. The Kuwait junket is not benefiting his children. It seems in fact to have turned him into an irresponsible gigolo. "

And having him fired, jailed and working a minimum wage job will benefit the children? He is working a job with garnishable wages, why would you try to change that when cs is so easily enforced now?
They can garnish his army pension if I'm not mistaken. At most the op would be foregoing an upward modification, which would be fought tooth and nail with the taxpayer money we are lavishing on him now. I say give him a silly uniform and teach him to say welcome to Walmart.

And this will benefit the children... how? And fyi... leaving =/= retiring.

It will teach the children about real honor in having an an honest job and being responsible for one's children.

Most of the contractors have thei 20 in and it's frosting on the cake at our expense.

Yeah, cause it would cost us LESS if he worked somewhere else, and we paid a NON retiree to do the job...BAER.

Do you think before you post?

"It will teach the children about real honor in having an an honest job and being responsible for one's children."
Even if there was more honor in working at Walmart... seeing he disappeared completely for the past 3 years and hasn't seen the kids, I'm not getting how the kids will even know and receive this lesson in "honor", unless you're also suggesting mom explain to them how she got dad fired, jailed and assured he'd be working this honorable, honest minimum wage job.

"Most of the contractors have thei 20 in and it's frosting on the cake at our expense. "
The OP stated he left the army, not that he retired. Either way, someone will be doing that job and getting paid for it.

And let's take his history of disappearing and not paying cs, which job is he more likely to give up to make another run to dodge cs, a $90+k job or a minimum wage job?

Your advice is advice about "getting even"... he's been an a$$, not paying cs, not seeing the kids, so let's jeopardize his job in return. At least own it and quit pretending it's about the best interest of the kids and teaching them about honor.

Counterintuitive, but it's the truth, especially for the nuveau riche of our mercenary forces. The last thing on their mind as lay on the beach in Kuwait with their escorts is their poor children, clinging to the image of their hero dad and eating community pantry beans.

I have no sympathy for someone like the OP's ex, in arrears for 3 years. A humbling experience is what he needs and the children and the world will be better off for it.

Wow. I want my deadbeat ex in jail too, but not when he has a good job AND he's paying CS (via wage garnishment). I'd rather have the money to help support our child.

I know Walmart workers who make 6 figure incomes; over 200K per year. And that's just a store manager.

Wow, no wonder they use a ton of part time workers with no insurance benefits.

You assume he is there in a mercenary position. More likely, it is in an admin or construction capacity.
