Flavor of the Month
      #775780 - 01/28/12 11:20 AM

Okay, the kids Dad hasn't seen them since CHristmas. He's taking them to lunch today. Why does he feel it necessary to bring the skank of the month? The kids would really love to spend time with Dad and be his center of attention - even for an hour at lunch.

I know the circumstances (and people) are totally different, but I will say that when DH and I discussed this - one argument FOR was that to do otherwise keeps the kids out of his life. And the goal is for them to feel as though they ARE a part of his life. Just a different perspective.

I could see that if he spent more time with the kids. But, he's gone as long as 9 months without seeing our DD because his gf didn't care for her (she looks just like me).

But, when you see your kids less than once a month they would love to have his full attention.

I only say skank because who else dates someone who doesn't see their kids and is behind on CS? lol

I thought that gf didn't want her around because she claimed your dd had behavioral issues, not because dd looked like you? She seriously said "I don't want that child around because she looks like SRS" ? That's messed up.

Amazingly enough. The "behavioral issues" went away with that particular live-in.

But, the point was why bring skank-o-the-month around when you only see your kids less than once a month (if that).

I quit trying to figure out why BM does anything, I could guess all day and still be wrong. But the most likely reason...he is a tool.

I would never do it, but wonder what would happen if I didn't dress the kiddos up when Dad got there to pick them up?

They run around the house in sweats/shorts & tees. They wear uniforms to school, so on the weekends I don't care if they want to dress seriously down. I polish them up and dress them cute before he comes over.

Imagine, if I sent them in holy sweats, stained tees, and flip-flops. They wouldn't be nearly as cute to show off to the flavor of the month.

I would NEVER to that to the kids though. It is about them, afterall. But, in my mind...... lol

That is how we used to get them from BM. Not that she did it on purposes but she didn't make an effort at all. I think she just let the kids where whatever they want. You know how that can turn out? Favorite sparkley red shoes with favorite pajama bottoms and a sponge bob shirt!

Yeah, DS is sitting on the couch with a too short t-shirt, too big of sweats, sponge bob flip flops, and his new lego watch. DD has on a sparkly dress that really needs leggings to make it decent to wear in public.

There is no way I'd send them anywhere looking like that.

But, it is slightly funny to think about.
