Saw this on Facebook, thought it was HILARIOUS, but it might offend some Christians, so I am PRE warning you, its a JOKE:
Christianity- The belief that some cosmic Jewish Zombie can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because some rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree. Makes perfect sense...

Atheism- the belief that there was nothing & nothing happened to nothing & then nothing magically exploded for no reason creating everything & then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason which then turned into dinosaurs.
-------------------- Lisa
Diplomacy - the art of telling someone to go to hell, and them looking forward to the trip.

I thought I was potentially going to be offended.
Here's another: A young woman brings home her fiance to meet her parents. After dinner, her mother tells her father to find out about the young man.
The father invites the fiancee to his study for a drink. “So what are your plans?” the father asks the young man. “I am a Torah scholar.” he replies. “A Torah scholar. Hmmm,” the father says. “admirable, but what will you do to provide a nice house for my daughter to live in, as she’s accustomed to?” “I will study,” the young man replies, “and God will provide for us.” “And how will you buy her a beautiful engagement ring, such as she deserves?” asks the father. “I will concentrate on my studies,” the young man replies, “God will provide for us.” “And children?” asks the father. “How will you support children?” “Don’t worry, sir, God will provide,” replies the fiance. The conversation proceeds like this, and each time the father questions, the young idealist insists that God will provide. Later, the mother asks, “How did it go, Honey?” The father answers, “He has no job and no plans, but the good news is he thinks I’m God!”

---> Like the 'missing link'. That magically 'bridge' between apes and humans of which there is no evidence of, but that science believes in.

The difference being, science is still LOOKING for answer, they don't make up stories, call them fact and stop.

In reality I do not think they will find the answer, the missing link, I took a class Biological Anthropology and there is no connection so far and there has been a significant amount of time and attention spent on the subject. Research continues on the "missing link" so could they find one, who knows, but it is the same as is where's the undeniable "proof" in regards to God/Jesus doing all that he/they are credited for, there may be proof for either side, science and religion. I prefer to believe in Christ and have faith but I am open enough to looking at the science if/when they find the "missing link" yet at the same time I do not plan to give up my faith if a link is ever found.
In the class we were told for the class we needed to go from the view point of evolution and not creation - the professors opening statement was "I do not care if you believe in creation or evolution, for this class it is evolution" and creation was never talked about AT.ALL. I learned a lot and it was quite interesting and no one got offended, at least no one showed it or talked about it after class or what have you.
There are tolerant people on both sides of the issue and non-tolerant people on both sides as well and if people respected each others viewpoints in stead of trying to prove each other wrong those who believe in faith may just look at the science and those who believe in the science may just look at faith. This is where I want to say "can't we all just get along" knowing fully that we cannot.
Just my 2 cents =)
