If a CS order is "ORDERED that the order dated XX/XX/XXXX for the following is hereby terminated effective April 20, 20XX..."- does that mean that CS for the NCP to pay/CP receives goes THROUGH April 20th or stops April 19th?
ETA: I assume that terminated effective means terminated ON the 20th so CS goes through the 19th and STOPS for the actual date of the 20th.

I agree - I would think that means it stops April 19th...it says it's terminated on 4/20, which I assume means no payment that day forward.

I don't know because the norm is to have the CS paid through the end of the month as in April's payment would just be paid and not prorated for during the month.
Is the cs (that normally would be paid) due on the 20th of the month (April) for the month of May or is it due for April on the 20th?
Even when a child turns 18 or graduates from hs the monthly amount includes the whole month - but this was way back when in Washington state when we were involved in cs issues.

Not here- CS ended because the child no longer lived at that home. I could probably call CSE and find out if they included the DAY of termination in configuring CS. I just wondered if anyone knew how that worked?

Seriously...ya'll are going to quibble over a day?
That being said...I have never heard of CS being pro-rated; I know that it wasn't with any of my kids. CS is due and payable the first of every month, regardless of how it is paid. So even though you have an 'effective' date of April 20th...it simply means that there will be no May 'bill'.
If it does get pro-rated...whether it's the 19th or the 20th...consider it a 'gift'.

It stops "as of" that date. Meaning, as of that date, no CS is due.
And yes, Gecko, it can be, and is pro-rated. So if you pay $500 a month, divide that by 'x' days per month, there you go. Happens all the time.

Well there is the conclusion jumper! Nah- I don't care about a day or a week or 2 for that matter. The problem is there were doctor bills that BM refused to pay. The doctor's office then billed SD TWO years later... So SD called- the doctor bills were the 3rd of one month and the 2nd of THAT month. Well H called and said they were BM's responsibility. Now the doctor office is saying the ONE bill was not the 2nd, but the 20th- which is the exact date the order was terminated. Have no problem paying this one- even though we wonder if the dates were switched- but if other bills start coming out of the woodwork would like to know what THAT day was considered.

Ours was definitely pro-rated so that wasn't the issue and BM did pay that credit back... We never looked to see how far she paid back, we were happy she paid anything. Just wondering from here on out if we get a bunch of doctor or dentist bills with that "April 20" date.

---> Cassie...while I am the all-powerful, all-seeing Gecko (poking fun at myself here folks...don't get your panties in a twist)...I can ONLY go by what YOU posted. Your post was about child support and whether said child support ended on the 19th or the 20th. And you further posted that you were going to call CSE and find out what the day was for termination of child support. So honestly...is really that much of a 'jump' to think you were talking about child support?

---> It's actually pretty simple...since SD is 18, she can go to the doctor's office and she gets a copy of her medical records (don't ask for them in advance)...which will have a record of exactly what days and times she was seen by the doctor.

Good idea...although we live out of town, we will pay the bill, BUT will get those medical records in the meantime.
Once CS ended then BM's responsibility ended, so that's where I was going with that. However I am sure some of ya all are sick of my whining ;)
