People can always find something to be offended by if they want. A lot of us grow out of it in our 30's and choose happiness. Part of Christianity is spreading the word. Be offended by it if you choose, or accept it, move on and be happy.

I was thinking of some of the old movies, like Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Swiss Family Robinson, Flipper....oldies but sill goodies.
My niece is 6 and her favorite movie is The Sound of Music.
I like Snoopy Come Home. I wonder if that is G.

I read all Herriot's book as a girl. I think the original "series" was 3 books.. then he has some others outside of that. I'm glad I read this thread and saw the comment, reminds me that I should get them for dd as well. She's an animal nut and she'd LOVE them when she got older!
I also wonder, will have to look, if they ever put the series on DVD? I'm pretty sure the first book was a series on PBS at one point?
I also like "The Saddle Club" series on PBS for girls. Good, wholesome show.

I wasn't offended, just wanted to point out that Christians didn't INVENT morality, and NON Christian works can have JUST as much a positive impact as Christian literature.
Of course, I was completely respectful, did not deride anyone's beliefs, just suggested a different path to the ultimate goal...and I am painted as the bad guy.

I owe you today, refreshing my memory! Yes, this was another favorite of mine as a kid. I was a huge reader. Definitely will add this to my "must buy" list.
I just went and refreshed my memory. The Plague Dogs was the other one I read by him. There's one on Amazon "The ship's cat" that the cover illustration is stunning.. Gonna buy that one too I think just for the artwork.
ETA: I know it's dumb to buy a book for artwork.. but I love the vintage books, by Raphael Tuck? The Adams book I just mentioned reminds me of those big time!!
