Child Support Questions...
      #780695 - 03/21/12 10:11 PM

Hi,

I live in Minnesota and I am filling out the child support calculator for the state of Minnesota. I have a few questions for anyone who may be able to answer them.

1. When it says put in Monthly Income received. Should I put my monthly gross or my monthly net? I'm assuming monthly net, but I just wanted to ask anyone to make sure.

2. I get paid weekly. So some months (that have five weeks) I get paid more than months that have 4 weeks. Should I average out my monthly income over the year. That is take (weekly pay * 52)/12 ?

3. I'm a little confused on why the calculator only allows me to choose child custody for <10%, 10% to 45% or 45.1% to 50%. Why doesn't it allow me to choose custody for greater than 50%?

If anyone can help me out and answer these questions, I would appreciate it very much. Thanks

Gross income is used. Take weekly income and multiply by 4.3.
It allows yot to choose greater than 50% because you indicate you are the parent with custody and the other parent has the percentage.
