my atty dumped me!

I've paid my atty about 10,000 for not much so far. My spouse's atty just filed for master hearing with inventory etc (after discovery). My lawyer just told me she has 30 days to respond and wants $3,000 more in 72 hours or she will withdraw as council. I just sent her $500 more last week and she knows I don't have $3,000...Now what? Am i out of mind in PA to be my own atty? My spouse's atty, of course, has been running up a bill (over $100,000) for 2 1/2 years without collecting a cent and will request courts for me (only bread winner) to pay his bill...HELP!!! God, i hate lawyers.

What did you finally do? I see this was posted in May. I have MS and I married a con man who managed to manipulate me into adding his name on the title of my house, 5 months before he dumped me because of the MS - he also filed a fraudulent bankruptcy. Now he's after my home, pension and 401k and has destroyed my credit. I have no lawyer - also dumped by because I ran out of money for his doing nothing - and a jury trial coming up. My previous attorney did relatively no discovery so I have no idea how to approach the judge for more time and with no money left I will have to be my own lawyer. "A fool for a client" as they say - I also live in another state and stress exacerbates my disease considerably. I am completely paralyzed by my lack of control, but if I do't defend myself i'll lose by default. Katie
