Accountability Increased for Family Court Helpers

Chad Edinger of the State Court Administrator’s Office (SCAO) listened, learned, accepted calls, acknowledged concerns, solicited information from parents and supporters, and worked tirelessly throughout the State to implement CFI Reform; overcoming significant obstacles and strong opposition.

Work with Chad and Bill Delisio of the SCAO and the State Legislators over the past 2 years has resulted in implemented Criminal background checks, a Statewide CFI Eligibility Roster, CFI Complaint process, CFI Sanctions, eliminated Immunity, CFI fees capped at $2000, mandated Conflicts of Interest disclosures by court officers, attorneys, and appointees, Orders must state when a CFI report is due, and updated Chief Justice Directive Standard 04-08 [censored]://[censored].courts.state.co.us/Courts/Supreme_Court/Directives/CJD%2004-08%20Amended%2011-11.pdf to protect our children of divorce better, with Accountability and Jurisdiction.

Any complaint involving a state paid attorney CFI will be made pursuant to the OCR’s complaint procedure as set forth in the “Office of the Child’s Representative (OCR) Formal Complaint Procedures and Form,” available on the OCR’s website: [censored].coloradochildrep.org/compliments_complaints/.

Hopefully these efforts will protect children and families, increase accountability and reduce costs for our state judicial system and the families using the system.
