Hello,
First of all, I live out of the US now.
I married with American guy in CA and ex sent me back to my country after 6-year-marriage-life. It seemed ex started the process for our divorce in the court pretty soon. But I had never been informed anything from ex or the court. I don't have any papers sent and I still don't have my divorce certification. But I need it for the paper work here. How I can get it? I know which court ex probably contacted but they don't have their email adds on their website.

Your ex may have obtained a divorce with service by publication. Write a letter to the clerk of the court asking for a certified copy of the decree or final court order dissolving the marriage. Include a check and self-addressed stamped envelope. In CA you should be able to see and print out the decree from the court records website.

Thanks alot for your kind advice.
I'm going to send the letter to the court, though I'm not sure which is better, the small courthouse or the superior court for that area.
I also wonder, I don't know exactly when my ex had sued for divorce but I only know it roughly, and his name and the address at that time. I hope they'll still do something for me.
By the way, if I can ask more questions, how much I should send for? Is it okay if it's postal MO? Cuz I cannot send a bank check internationally.
Sorry of these many questions, but I trully don't know where or who I can ask about these matters based on the US law. I'll really appreciate it if I can have more information.

The matter is probably in the Superior Court of the county in question, although I'm not sure in CA. A call or email to the clerks office with specific questions about how to obtain a certified copy would be best. The court where the divorce was granted and the case number are essential, although they may find the case under his last and first name. I would do some research online if I were you to find the case.
An American MO should be ok for payment, but it hold be the exact amount for a certified copy. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.
Just a while ago I made a phone call to the court and told them my name and my ex, but they couldn't find any record.. now I'm totally confused.
Anyway, thank you very much again for your great advice.
