Mom arrested for child abuse--what now?

Hi the mom to step kids arrested for child abuse last week. They were taken into a safe haven and my husband got them airline tickets and they are here with us. She is facing time. She spent 72 hrs in jail. Her other child went to his dad. Here's my issue the social worker for CPs said we only have them the 4 weeks of our summer visitation. And after that we have to return them??? That would be around July 11 Her court date isn't until 8/11. So what do we do? Does that make sense that we are required to return them? I know get a lawyer but in meantime until tomorrow I'm a little antsy.

What the father needs to do is file for emergency custody. He definitely needs to consult with an attorney. And if the state that the mom is in has jurisdiction, all court action will need to be done there.

Probably, but the father should be able to prevail given that CPS took the kids away from her. CPS is only going by the current court order and their goal is to reunite the mom with the kids. If the father gets custody, with supervised visits, then CPS has to abide by the new court order.

This is something that father needs to discuss with his attorney when he gets one.

Didn't you post here not long ago with a post about your SS (raping) your son?

Are one of these boys him? Is he even allowed in you home?

He isn't in my home. He is with his father in our other home. Yes it was me sticky situation. Seems his mother may have been abusing him as well.
