Update

Well, quick update.

We did do a move away. According to our attornies, it wasn't really a move away since he had already moved out of the area and hadn't seen the kids in quite a while.

I offered a lot of extra visitation - every holiday and 1 month in the summer. He countered with every other Thanksgiving, 1 week at Christmas and 1 month in the summer.

He also asked to substansially lower the child support - by 60% - before he'd sign off on the move away. He did ask for me to pay him $350 each time he decided to drive over to see the kids and I said no. BTDT with me paying him to see the kids in the past.

So, long story short, we moved. I only applied for one job in my new area and I got it. I paid cash from my savings for a cute little house. The kids start at the local Catholic school next week. Son is in football and daughter is in cheerleading and dance. We live within 10 miles of most of our relatives - I have 10 aunts/uncles and over 40 first cousins....

Life is good for all of us.

Sounds like a lot of good things happening. Closer to relatives, good schools, new job, new house. I am sure it will be a busy and good year.
